Production Process
Producing Ethanol involves fermentation of molasses, a by product of the sugar industry, to become a "mash", which is subsequently vacuum distilled to became Ethanol.
Producing Acetic Acid involves oxidation of Ethanol vapor with air in a Fixed Bed reactor to become liquid Acetaldehyde, which is subsequently oxidized with air in a bubble reactor to become acetic acid. Producing Ethyl Acetate involves esterification reaction between Acetic Acid and Ethanol in a Fixed Bed reactor.
Fermentation Process

Molasses is stored in thanks where it is fermented to become "mash". The fermentation process using "High Bio Technology" yeast along with nutrients containing Nitrogent, Phosphorous, etc. results in a "mash" containing 12% Ethanol ready for distillation.
Distillation Process

Mash from fermentation unit is vacuum distilled to produce Super Prima Grade of Ethanol with purity of 96.5% bV, while the by product is technical grade Ethanol, which is processed to become Spiritus.
Oxidation Process

Using a solid catalyst, Ethanol vapours are oxidized with air in a fixed bed reactor to produce Acetaldehyde with purity 99.99% bW, then Acetaldehyde during its liquid phase is oxidized with air in a bubble reactor by using a liquid catalyst to become food grade Acetic Acid of purity 99.8% bW.
Eseterification Process

Eseterification reaction between Acetic Acid and Ethanol in a fixed bed reactor which content granular catalyst become Ethyl Acetate with purity of 99.9% bW and maximum water content of 0.02% bW.

Quality Control
The Quality Control Department of PT INDO ACIDATAMA Tbk. is solely responsible for monitoring round-the-clock production process, quality of all product, as well as analyzing quality of raw material and by-product.
Equipped with all apparatus and computers, including Karl Fisher Titrator, Spectrophotometer, Gas Chromatography, High Presure Liquid Chromatography, Polarimeter, Turbidimeter, Moisturemeter, Gas analyzer and other accessories.
The computerized system is capable of analyzing and confirming the purity of raw materials, end-products, and impurities in accordance with established standarts.
